Horseback Riding
Nestled deep in North Carolina’s pristine Blue Ridge Mountains, Ashe County and West Jefferson are home to some spectacular views of rolling hills and lush, green pastures. Much of the Ashe County NC land has remained rural and untouched, creating the perfect spots to enjoy horseback riding in NC. Horseback riding and equestrian interests are hugely popular in Ashe County and there are several master class equestrian centers nearby in our region. With miles and miles of great horseback riding trails, this activity is a wonderful way to explore parts of the Blue Ridge and Ashe County that you normally would not be able to by car, due to the terrain.

Discover the scenic beauty throughout Ashe County by going horseback riding near the Blue Ridge Parkway or the New River. The parkway has several wonderful trails in Ashe County that are accessible by horseback, and nearby Blowing Rock NC is home to some phenomenal horseback riding trails along the parkway near the Moses Cone home. Want to ride along the river? Railroad Grade Road is a gorgeous, straight, paved road that runs right alongside the New River, providing some beautiful sights and sounds.
