For over a decade, Daniel Boone Native Gardens in nearby Boone NC has attracted the local community as well as countless visitors to the area from spring's early blooming through autumn's brilliant transition.
The lore and legacy of the great frontiersman, Daniel Boone, lives on at the Gardens, which is thought to be located near his famed Wilderness Road. Highlights of the garden include the native stone gatehouse, surrounded by a wrought-iron gate, at the entrance of the six-acre spread forged by Daniel Boone IV, and given by Daniel Boone VI, a direct descendant of the legendary pioneer.
